Step 1 - Sign in to download Office
1.Go to www.office.com and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in.
Note: If you bought Office for personal use through your company's Microsoft HUP benefit, you may not be able to sign in here. Find installation help at Install Office through HUP.
2.Sign in with the account you associated with this version of Office. This account can be a Microsoft account, or work or school account.
Forgot your account details? See I forgot the account I use for Office.
3.On the Office home page, do the following depending on your version of Office.
If you signed in with a Microsoft account, from the Office home page select Install Office > Install. (Office 365 subscribers should select Installaga in).
Tip: To install Office in a different language, or install the 64-bit version (if you're on a PC), from the Office 365 home page, select Install Office apps>Other install options > Advanced. Choose the language and bit version you want and then select Install.
This begins the download of Office. Follow the prompts on your screen to complete the install.
Don't see an install option after signing in? There could be an issue with your account. Select Need help? from above and review the section Account questions.
Step 2 - Install Office
Depending on your browser, click Run (in Edge or Internet Explorer), Setup (in Chrome), or Save File (in Firefox).
If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Click Yes.
The install begins.
3.Your install is finished when you see the phrase, "You're all set! The office is installed now" and an animation plays to show you where to find Office applications on your computer.
Follow the instructions in the window, for example, Click Start > All Apps to see where your apps are, and select Close.

Installation or sign issue
If you're having installation issue such as Office taking long to install, try Need help? for a list of common issues.
Step 3: Activate Office
1.Start using an Office application right away by opening any app such as Word or Excel. Can't find Office after installing?
In most cases, Office is activated once you start an application and after you click Accept to agree to the License terms.
2. Office might activate automatically. However, depending on your product you might see the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard. If so, follow the prompts to activate Office.
If you see the Activate Office screen
If you install Office 365 or Office 2016 yourself, Office will activate automatically, if possible. You will only see this screen if Office needs your Microsoft account, or work or school account, to activate. Enter your account and password to activate Office.
If you see the Enter your product key screen
If you bought Office through your employer's Microsoft HUP benefit, you must enter your Microsoft HUP product key. (Signing in won't work for Microsoft HUP purchases.)
If Office is asking you for a product key to activate Office, in many cases you can enter your Microsoft account instead. This is the account that you used to buy Office or subscribe to Office 365. Just select Sign in with an active account instead and enter the account you used to buy Office or subscribe to Office 365.

If you see "Install limit reached"
If you see this message after you install Office, it means that you have already activated the maximum number of installs that your Office 365 subscription supports. You'll need to deactivate another Office install before you can activate the Office you just installed.
If you see Unlicensed Product errors
When Office becomes unlicensed, all editing features of Office are disabled. An office can become unlicensed for a number of reasons. For example, if your Office 365 subscription expires, you must renew your subscription to restore all features of Office. If Office was pre-installed on your new PC, you must start an Office 365 Home trial or buy Office to continue using Office.
Unlicensed Product and activation errors in Office
Applies To: Excel 2016 Word 2016 Outlook 2016 PowerPoint 2016 OneNote 2016. If Office activation fails, you'll see Unlicensed Product or Non-commercial use / Unlicensed Product in the title bar of your Office apps, and most features of Office are disabled. To restore all features of Office, you'll need to fix the problem that's causing activation to fail.
Use the Activation Troubleshooter for Office 365 and Office 2016
This troubleshooter runs on Windows PCs and can fix activation errors for Office 365, Office 2016, and individual Office 2016 apps, like Visio, Project, Word, and Outlook. If you're using Office 2013, you'll need to fix Unlicensed Product errors yourself.
